Pine Tar Bar

This traditional soap is the go-to bar for people with eczema and other skin conditions. Made with Swedish pine tar and a touch of soothing oats, this soap has a naturally strong smokey scent and lather that won’t strip the skin of protective oils. 

Pine tar is obtained by slowly burning the resin from the root stock of pine trees. Pine tar has long been valued for its anti-inflammatory, antibacterial and antifungal properties.

Because handmade soaps retain their natural glycerine (unlike commercially produced soaps), they should be kept dry between uses to prolong their life. When not in use, keep your soap out of the shower stream and store on a soap dish that allows drainage. Because natural soaps use no chemical detergents or lathering agents, they lather best with a shower "pouf" or loofa.

This bar can leave a dark residue as it melts.
